Bespoke Windows Glasgow & Edinburgh covering Scotland
At Draftseal Limited we specialise in making "one off" bespoke windows that come in all different shapes and sizes. Replicating the exact mould details to astragals and sash wood and other window components. We also use specialised "antique glass" where and when it is requested/required. See our glazing page for more information.
Many of our bespoke windows can be seen in historic building throughout Scotland. See our gallery to view examples.
Many of the historic buildings Draftseal Limited work on have antique glass and therefore any broken panes that require replacing would be replaced using the same type of glass. If modern clear float glass was to be used in these buildings the difference would be very apparent and not in keeping with the history of the building.
There is a variety of antique glass available; "Crown", "Baltic" and "German Cylinder" to name but a few. There are also less expensive alternatives such as "D Lam" and "D Rest".
Antique glass has its own unique pattern such as the grain of the glass and the air bubbles.
